Drop 07 started with a single object: a grained calf duffle we had been sketching since the winter. Everything else in the drop was built around it, like furniture arranged around a table.

The anchor: Duffle 01

Forty pieces, cut from end-of-roll calf from a tannery outside Florence. Brass hardware, an unlined body and a shoulder strap long enough to wear across the chest. It is the loudest thing we have made and also the most practical.

The supporting cast

• Court Low — deadstock nappa, gum sole, no visible logo.

• Silk Drape — reclaimed Como silk, hand-rolled edges.

• Night Shade — black acetate frames with CR-39 lenses.

• Chain Ring Set — three recycled sterling rings, cast in Lisbon.

One room, one light

We shot every piece in the same white room in Vesterbro under the same soft overhead light, then matched our renders to it. What you see on the screen is what arrives in the box.
